YouTube works differently inside the Troomi Safe Browser—designed to reduce risk without cutting kids off from helpful, age-appropriate content.
Parents can turn on YouTube Safe Mode in the Parent Portal to limit how videos are surfaced and recommended. With Safe Mode enabled, YouTube no longer pushes algorithm-driven suggested videos that can lead to endless scrolling or inappropriate content.
Kids can still watch approved, age-appropriate videos on YouTube—but without ads, autoplay spirals, or exposure to unsafe material. The Troomi Smart Browser prioritizes educational, kid-safe content while giving parents meaningful oversight and peace of mind.
Note: YouTube itself can’t be fully removed from the browser, but Safe Mode significantly reduces risk by controlling recommendations and filtering what children see.
