We have loved having this service for my son. He is 15, but has some limitations (immaturity, mental/behavioral struggles, cognative delays/deficits) that have prevented us from ever feeling like he was ready for a regular phone. We knew he definitely wasn't ready for social media, but he also wasn't able to even have access to the internet safely. This made it extremely difficult to get him a regular phone as there was no way to restrict the internet the way we needed it to be. The Troomi operating system is great because you can add websites you allow without having to worry about your kid getting lost in the mess of the entire internet. It works exactly like they say on their website. When you make changes through the parent portal, like turning on and off the internet or messaging, and it works almost instantly. There is only like a 30 second delay. There are a limited number of apps that you can get, but it's so much better to have the peace of mind to know that you are in complete control over you child's phone. Our son was able to go on different websites that had kid safe games and he was still able to use his XBox and Nintendo Switch if he was just interested in playing games. We really loved the ability to have his music on there with Spotify. Our son has a deep love of music, so this was an added bonus to getting Troomi. *Only one thing to be aware of, Spotify allows you to limit explicit lyrics, but does not monitor or place any kind of age limit on podcasts or album pictures. This has nothing to do with Troomi and is only a flaw with Spotify. Just wanted to put it out there so anybody who didn't know that could be informed before adding Spotify to their kid's phone.* Overall, we really love the Troomi operating system and the fact that our son can walk around with a Samsung smart phone that looks just like everyone else's at his school. No one has to know that he has a limited phone and he can feel cool like the other kids. Plus the monthly service is super cheap compared to other phones!

As a family, letting our daughter have a phone was a hard no. But as she is now old enough to be alone at times and places, we do need a way to communicate and check on her. Troomi is the perfect compromise that allows calling/texting and tracking her GPS location (huge plus!) without giving her a full smartphone. This phone will grow with her - as she gets older we can allow access to more apps and internet. We had an issue onboarding the new phone, but a call to customer service resolved the issue quickly. Our agent was friendly, clear and helpful in his instructions and spoke clear English!

The troomi phone and plan is a great option for our child who uses the phone for just basic needs text and call. Great parental guidelines, support and control of the phone is included with options to upgrade the plans to allow more freedom when the time is right. The tech support is awesome as well. My agent Deniece was super amazzzing in helping get my issue resolved with the phone too.

Been happy with this option for my child. It gives her some independence but I can adjust the level of parental oversight she needs as she goes through different stages. The email tech support has been handy when I have questions - thanks to Caden V for quick responses!

Very satisfied with Troomi. We actually ended up going with a different provider, however in the time we used the service, it worked just as advertised! The phones were perfect for my kids as far as ease of use, storage and speed. The reason we went with a different service is because my kids were getting older and I wanted to give them more freedom with their phones. Troomi phones are very secure and has a list of apps compatible with the phone. As my kids got older, we wanted to give them more options that werent listed with Troomi. For younger kids, or kids just getting started with smart phones, I highly recommend Troomi. Lastly, customer service was very helpful, responsive and friendly. I received help in cancelling 2 lines very quickly and had my issue resolved within a few days. Most of the hold up was on my end as they were very quick to respond. Overall, if you are interested in Troomi, the service and product is exactly how it is described.

Troomi has been great over the years. Easy to set up and when the phone needed upgrading they sent a new one quick. Service is great and kids have a "real" phone that can grow with them when they are ready. My oldest has now graduated and we no longer need Troomi but I have younger ones that will be introduced to them when they are ready. Communication with Lexie when it came time to disconnect service was super helpful. I can't recommend them enough!

I got my daughter a phone a year ago and just had to get her a replacement, the troomi staff very extremely fast with processing the phone and quick with the few emails we exchanged. It's rare these days to call the support number and actually talk to a human who can troubleshoot with you, answer questions and get things sorted within minutes! Prompt and excellent customer service from DB when I need to make changes to my service plan. Even when I needed to downgrade for a few months, he was very understanding and accommodating. I actually contacted the support team again to revert to my original plan, and it was just as easy (shout out to Estevan too; he was also quick to assist). In short, I am very pleased with Troomi's affordable pricing options, user-friendly parent portal features, and above all, the flexibility to make adjustments with no contract. This has been a great starter phone for my 6th grader, and I am very happy with my decision.
