Frequently Asked Questions

Troomi is a smartphone platform for children that combines safety, gradual responsibility, and digital wellness. Powered by KidSmart OS®, it allows parents to introduce technology at a developmentally appropriate pace and expand functionality as kids mature.
Troomi is built for families with children who are ready for their first phone, typically ages 7–15. It serves parents who want safety today and digital readiness for tomorrow.
Troomi is built for growth, not lockdown. Parents can start with talk-and-text only and gradually enable apps, tools, and features as maturity increases, creating digital confidence rather than dependence or restriction.

Safety prevents harm, but wellness builds capability. Research, including CDC data, shows rising youth anxiety and depression linked to unhealthy tech use. Troomi helps children learn balance and responsible habits before they encounter the whole digital world.

Parents manage all settings through the Parent Portal — including contacts, texts, web access, and app functionality. This gives caregivers visibility and guidance without handing children unrestricted access too early.
Younger children can use a very limited environment (call/text only), and parents can then enable safe apps, vetted browsing, and additional tools as digital maturity develops. The model mirrors real-world learning: gradual, guided, and age-appropriate.
Yes. Social media and adult content are not available on Troomi devices. The OS is built to prevent exposure at the system level, not just through filters or apps.

The founders saw that existing “safe phones” were too limited to be sustainable; kids simply stopped using them. Troomi was built to solve a deeper problem: helping children learn to use technology well, not just avoid it.

Troomi is headquartered in Orem, Utah, and serves families nationwide.
To help raise digitally healthy adults – children who learn discipline, balance, and responsible tech habits early, so they enter adolescence with confidence rather than overwhelm.
